We have a contract position at a military medical treatment facility in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. You do not have to possess a Virginia license to work there under this contract.

1 Summary. Examines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders; manages and directs psychiatric services. Related DoD occupational group: 260125

2 Qualifications.

2.1 Experience. At least 24 months of experience within the last 36 months.
2.2 Completion of residency or fellowship in psychiatry acceptable to the Surgeon
General, HQ DoD, is mandatory.

3 Specific Tasks.
3.1 Examines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders. Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains and evaluates data through interview techniques. Diagnoses psychiatric disorders. Prescribes and evaluates effectiveness of a wide range of therapeutic measures. Recommends disposition of psychiatric cases.
3.2 Manages and directs psychiatric services. Formulates plans for psychiatric services. Directs mental health clinics. Advises on problems related to mental health and prevention of mental disorders. Serves as medical and psychiatric consultant to clinical psychologists and clinical social workers. Assigns psychiatric nurses and technicians to functions contributing to the diagnosis and treatment or patients. Advises on kind and quantity of psychiatric supplies and equipment. Coordinates psychiatric services with other medical activities. Instructs interns and residents in psychiatric principles and procedures. Serves as consultant on psychiatry.

A Senior Lab Technician is needed to maintain accountability for providing technical customer support of multiple product families and delivery technologies and related processes, representing $20M – $50M in hospital products annual sales. This consultant will need to make timely technical decisions with high risk of consequences to the business. For example, one national account or key account can represent $1mm or greater in annual sales. The Lab Tech cultivates relationships with internal and external customers and has direct impact and influence affecting customer relationships across multiple US market segments (hospital labs, reference labs, physician’s offices, nursing homes) with a direct impact on thousands of US customers, including the most high profile and influential accounts. This consultant will act as technical mentor and technical advisor to assist others and interact with R&D, Marketing, external vendors, and peers regarding product development/improvement issues. Additionally, the Lab Tech will represent customer support to customers and VIPs and present technical information to all management levels.

Managing the following major responsibilities, the Senior Lab Technician will:

Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system
Direct and schedule activities of other representatives, usually for specific project stages and training
Routinely identify and collaborate with other departments and outside sources to accomplish tasks
Identify department operation issues, department training issues, and/or individual specific training issues, and propose solutions
Recognize and report trends in product issues, assess risk, and determine appropriate actions
Investigate systemic problems and identify causes; develop solutions
Act as a resource for the escalation of problems from others
Conduct training of employees
Develop and modify training materials and programs to increase effectiveness of learning and reinforce training
Communicate recommendations to quality and product development groups

The primary functions, goals, and objectives of this role are to:

Maintain a thorough understanding of all departmental operations
Provide support to customers and field personnel as the primary contact for troubleshooting and resolving product problems; provide critical account support where required; and handle high volume of critical, high-risk accounts in addition to other routine requests

Qualifications:

Degree in Medical or Laboratory Technology, Engineering, IT or related fields in addition to 2-4 years of experience or a certificate in Medical or Laboratory Technology in addition to 4-6 years of experience
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics
Thorough understanding of the theory and application of hardware and software support, including proficiency in data networking connectivity problem solving
